I have strong skills in collecting and analysing qualitative (designing and facilitating usability testing) and quantitative (web analytics) data and bringing them together to produce strong evidence based personas and user journeys.  From these I am able to design user centric sitemaps, wireframes and designs.

I am passionate about my work in developing user centred sites and am always ready to engage with major stakeholders in order to explain the background to my decisions and the importance of good design and usability.

I have managed teams of varying sizes from small to large and have a good/excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, HTML/CSS, PowerPoint, Visio and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver). I also have some familiarity with JavaScript, PHP and SQL, Adobe Flash, Illustrator and Microsoft Project.

I have also developed a number of small scale web sites for clients based around the Joomla CMS system.

Career History:

Web Consultant / Information Architect - March 2005 to date:

As a freelance consultant, I have worked with a number of blue chip clients and agencies focussing on customer experience and website development.  Amongst the clients I have worked with are:

Fidelity International (Oct 2007- - December 2010): Content development / Information Architect: I have taken part in a number of projects targeted at both individual investors and financial advisers

Amongst the projects I have been involved in were sitemapping and wireframing a major re-development of the UK site as well as many local markets (including Sweden and the Netherlands).

I have also worked on the development of specific tools for both audiences.  These projects require skills in web page creation, content development, information architecture, site mapping, web analytics reporting (WebTrends) and search engine optimisation as well as analysis and implementation of the outcome of usability tests.

Profero (July – September 2007) : Information Architect: Task analysis, persona development, user journeys, sitemapping and wireframing as part of the e-commerce and visitor information areas of a major brewery web site for digital agency.

LBi: (April – July 2007) Usability Consultant: Developing customer profiles for a major international electronics company through the creation of creation of ‘diaries’, ethnographic interviews and data analysis to create typical personas. The aim was to provide a deeper understanding of online behaviour and buyer segmentation prior to a redevelopment of the company’s web site.

Which?: (Oct 2005 – March 2007) Information architect / Content Editor: Development of usability scripts, user journeys and wireframes to improve navigation and customer experience, brand language and search engine optimisation.  I also wrote the functional specifications for online reporting tools.

BSkyB: (March 2005 – July 2005) Information architect / Content Editor:  Content development, usability facilitating, wireframing, site mapping and information architecture during the redevelopment of the company’s sales site for its TV, broadband and telephony offerings
